Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Siem Reap - Temple Tour & Boat Trip To Tonle Sap Lake (D)
Upon arrival Siem Reap airport , you will be picked up to your hotel (the room is official available after 14:00 pm). Begin tour to the antique capital of Angkor Thom , start from the South Gate with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk, the Bayon Temple , unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara, the Phimeanakas , the Royal Enclosure , the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King . In the afternoon you will be transfer to Kompong Phluk, about 16km southeast of Siem Reap. Here is a much better option for you to visit a village on the lake. Kompong Phluk is accessible by boat only. It is relatively small village that provides very good insight into the village lifestyle of the Tonle Sap. This village exists almost exclusively on fishing and related activities. Houses are built on stilts up to 10 m high, and the village is surrounded by flooded forest.
